What defines a women’s beauty?

What steps are we willing to take to seek approval from the world’s definition of “beauty”?

At what time do we take a stand and say, “I am BEAUTIFUL, I am ENOUGH, and I am PERFECT in my imperfections?

Meet Lady Siza

From the dusty streets of Inanda in Durban South Africa to self-publishing her book ‘Enough Already! Overcoming the stigmas of Alopecia’, to her current advocacy of leading women with Alopecia to loving and embracing themselves regardless of their new norm of living with hair loss. Siza Chaplin is fondly known as Lady Siza because she’s married to a pastor and prefers that over First Lady and because she’s the only lady. Siza’s journey started years ago after she was diagnosed with alopecia areata, that left her permanently bald at the age of 31. She struggled for many years to accept her new normal of being a bald woman in a world that sees hair as a woman’s ‘crowning glory’.

In 2018, she was fed-up of hiding behind wigs and head scarves and decided to publicly come out and let the world know that you can be bald and beautiful! She now inspires, encourages, and liberates women from around the world to embrace their imperfections and not allow anything to stop them to live their lives to its fullest.

Lady Siza has taken YouTube and the podcasting world by storm; she co-hosts with her husband touching on an array of subjects. She’s not a stranger to media coverage, Lady Siza has been covered by many notable publications, including Drum, Move magazine and Independent on Saturday newspaper.

Why Siza?

My reputation as a speaker is built on my ability to explore and expand on difficult topics with my love and compassion for storytelling.

I make sure that I am extremely honest and authentically vulnerable each time I speak. From my experiences, I have learnt that words can water dead roots back to life, when said with the right impact.

I have the sort of energy that lightens the room and allows my audience to just be, to uncover pain points and discover themselves in a safe environment. I share from the depths of my soul and go along with my audience on a journey towards their own destinies and “finding themselves”.

I always ensure that I leave my audience with concrete strategies that can be put into action immediately. I am a powerhouse and a unique speaker that only encourages, inspires, and motivates but also empowers.

Testimonials

“When Siza came in to talk to my class, she was outgoing and friendly from the moment she stepped into my classroom. She pulled up a chair beside my student who had just been diagnosed with alopecia, so that she could make my student the star of the show alongside her. She allowed my student to read passages from her book, share her feelings throughout this process, and call on students to ask her questions. It was truly an amazing memory in my classroom that I will never forget. My students raved about it for the following week and some of them even left her presentation in tears. Siza was a great public speaker and made everyone feel comfortable. I would be happy to recommend her to anyone who would like this type of presentation to occur and know that I will definitely call on her in future years to come to visit my classroom. With all my heart, thank you Siza!”

The sincere narration of her personal stories made me feel better that I am not alone, and I can overcome because she was able to. She also shares really interesting strategies that has helped me to become a better me. Thank you Siza for being a gift to us that need a re-assuring voice.”

“The first thing that drew me to Siza is the warmth that she embodies whenever she talks. I felt like I had known her my whole life. Her words reached out to me and embraced me when I was in a ditch, and I felt like I can face another day and reach for my dreams. She encouraged me to be true to my path and follow my vision. I could listen to her all day.”
